Drinking the Poison And Waiting On Your Neighbor to Die- Dominique shares some wonderful insights

Kaleena Jones had a neighbor who couldn’t breathe without exhaling hatred. Everything that Kaleena did or tried to do was a problem for her neighbor, Savannah. Savannah tried desperately to sabotage Kaleena’s love life and reputation, to make herself feel better. She hated everything about the Jones’ and wouldn’t be satisfied until they moved back to wherever they came from. But Kaleena wasn’t making it easy. Hating is tough when no one wants to acknowledge it or reciprocate it. So, will Savannah give it up or kick it up a notch?

Dominique isn’t the most conventional of all authors, she writes about situations we face in our daily lives and spins short stories out of them, often linking them to the Bible. And there are quotes at just the most opportune moments.

This book is one like that. While the Title is a vast one, the learning in the book is immense if you see it that way.

The book starts with Savannah who finds everything in her life turning to the other way when Kaleena moves in to their low income neighborhood. She feels jealous that Kaleena has a TV and also that she’s pretty. Savannah’s mind is poisoned by her jealous thoughts and she thinks of ways to sabotage Kaleena by spreading rumors and trying to create problems.

But Kaleena is unaffected by this and after a while she moves away.

Years pass and then something happens to make Savannah regret her actions!!! What Happens? What makes her change her always jealous stance?

You’d have to read the book for that.

Dominique writes small and simple. It is one of those books that you should not focus too hard on the characters or the specifics but go for the learning that the book so easily gives out. And imbibe the Bible quotes. It isn’t necessary for you to be Catholic, the book doesn’t discriminate with you for not being so, just asks for you to have some patience and to read with an open mind.

The book is an easy flowing and short one. It is easily finished in one sitting and can be served with donuts or pizza.

The Bible Quotes make you wonder

What I like are the quotes from the Bible added

“The Rich Rules over the Poor and the Borrower is the slave of the Lender”

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, you shall not covet his wife or his servants or anything that is your neighbors”

” Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour”

“For jealousy makes a man furious, and he will not spare when he takes revenge”

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your tresspass”

My Rating: 3/5 4star

This is a good book to read when you have some time to read!!

I enjoyed reading it and I go back to it time to time when I need something

nice to read.
